Our mission is simple but impactful: to inspire individuals to champion sustainable practices and empower them to become the changemakers of tomorrow. Acknowledging the critical role education plays in environmental conservation, we are committed to fostering environmental awareness among young minds in Malaysia through engaging and insightful educational content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2023, we\u2019ve taken a proactive role in collaborating with local sustainability-focused startups to enhance awareness of environmentally-friendly practices. Here are a few examples of our initiatives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Urban Farming Episode<\/strong>: We developed digital episodes focusing on <strong>Urban Hijau<\/strong>, a local urban farm in Kuala Lumpur, to promote sustainable farming practices rooted in permaculture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Waste Management Webinar<\/strong>: Collaborating with <strong>BioLoop<\/strong>, an organic waste management startup, we hosted a webinar educating students and teachers on circularity and the role of the <strong>Black Soldier Fly<\/strong> in sustainable waste management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Introduction to the Sustainkita Outreach Series (SOS)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Sustainkita Outreach Series<\/strong> (&#8220;SOS&#8221;) podcast serves as a platform where we spark engaging discussions about climate change and environmental conservation. Curated by the youth and for the youth, our podcast episodes deliver insightful, bite-sized content, featuring a variety of environmental leaders who share their expertise. The series aims to raise awareness and empower the younger generation to take action for a sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Episode 1: Interview with Mogesh Sababathy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>[Link to watch]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our inaugural episode, we had the privilege of interviewing <strong>Mogesh Sababathy<\/strong>, a passionate youth climate advocate and Ph.D. student. Mogesh is renowned for his contributions to global and national climate policy. Currently, he serves on consultative panels for Malaysia&#8217;s Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NERCC) and is part of the <strong>National Planetary Health Action Plan<\/strong> by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. As a consultant for <strong>UNICEF Youth Climate Champions<\/strong>, his efforts have had far-reaching impacts on climate advocacy and policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Episode 2: Renewable Energy &amp; Electric Vehicles in Malaysia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>[Link to watch]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our second episode delves into Malaysia&#8217;s evolving energy landscape. Featuring <strong>Amir Tasnim<\/strong>, a sustainable energy engineer, and <strong>Naim Alias<\/strong>, a crypto analyst, this episode tackles topics such as renewable energy incentives, the challenges posed by fossil fuel subsidies, and the sustainability implications of electric vehicles. Together, we explore the key discussions that are shaping the future of energy and transportation in Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Episode 3: Plant-Based Diet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>[Extract Information from YouTube] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Episode 3, we will explore the environmental benefits of adopting a plant-based diet, shedding light on how this shift can contribute to a more sustainable future. We are diving into the world of plant-based eating, exploring the various terms and motivations behind this growing trend, the adoption strategies, and debunking some misconceptions surrounding plant-based diets.
